POROUS

Cecilia Reeve’s first independent short film, made during her MA at the Royal College of Art (2023).

In a dreamlike narrative, a woman takes a bath and reflects upon her past experiences; submerged in the water she enters a space out of time. It is an existentialist film questioning the boundaries in between the body and the outside world, between water and skin.

Using traditional frame-by-frame animation, Cecilia combines paint on glass, gouache, and digital animation to create a tactile and intimate film.

WINNER: ArtsThread Global graduation prize 2023

Selected screenings: LIAF (2023), BitBang (2023), CutOut (2023), Brighton International Animation Festival (2024)
